Welcome to Kawartha Zone

50 plus years of service to the ski industry!

The Canadian Ski Patrol (CSP) is a national organization dedicated to promoting safe skiing and boarding. The CSP is a registered non-profit corporation comprised of highly trained volunteer and professional members. National in scope, the CSP was formed in1941 to promote safe skiing and provide assistance to injured skiers. With a membership of more than 3800 patrollers, the CSP provides a highly skilled and responsible service to the snow industry. We promote safety and injury prevention on and off the snow and provide the highest possible standards of education, certification, and delivery in advanced first aid and rescue services to the snow industry.

Members of Kawartha Zone provide service in the winter to multiple resorts in southeastern Ontario, both alpine and Nordic. In the non-snow months, we provide medical services to various events within the geographic area of the zone. Our medical services tent and patrollers in their distinctive red uniforms can be seen at events such as the Bike for Bones, Ajax Trail Fest – Cycle with the Mayor, and the Lakefield Triathlon, to name a few.

Kawartha Zone is one of more than 55 zones (in nine divisions) across Canada. It was created in 1974 and this season we are proudly celebrating our 50th anniversary. There’s a new logo for the season, ably designed by one of our own members. Elsewhere on this site there are links to our history book which is working on updating the past number of years’ worth of activities into the written record. Some of our accomplishments documented in the current book are amazing and there’s more to be added. Over the course of this season, we have planned a number of events to celebrate this milestone and we look forward to seeing you out and about.
