Patrol of the Year
The award for the patrol of the year has been awarded to the Nordic Patrol. There have been many improvements made to the facilities including toboggan improvements to make it easier and more efficient to transport injured people, adding more cashes to the property, and utilizing unused equipment from other locations. There has been work in the last years to improve communication and support with the board of directors for the Nordic ski club. This was accomplished with Mark, the current PL and the guidance of Bev who stepped down last year from PL. This patrol has also greatly increased the number of patrollers in the last years through hard work and dedication of the patrollers. The Nordic patrol also invited the alpine skiers out last season for training events and fun ski days. These were greatly enjoyed by all who attended (how can you ski on those skinny skis so well?!) and we look forward to more days in the future with the Nordic patrol.
Zone Rookie AwardThe zone rookie award went to Mary Lou McLean of Brimacombe. Mary Lou has been a very eager patroller taking on tasks and projects with great enthusiasm! She reviewed incident reports on edge auditor, organizes potlucks for the patrol and participated in the SNOW day ski improvement clinic. Mary Lou enjoys helping her fellow patrollers and her eagerness to participate an assist in all aspects has not gone unnoticed.
