President’s Greeting

Greetings and Welcome to Kawartha Zone.

Thank you for showing interest in the Canadian Ski Patrol, Kawartha Zone. Our Zone is one of sixty-two from across the country; it is comprised of eight separate volunteer patrols serving different areas. The Dagmar, Lakeridge, Skyloft, Brimacombe, Devil’s Elbow, Sir Sam’s and Kawartha Nordic Patrols provide service to the snow sliding public. Additionally, we have a patrol dedicated to other athletic events that we call our Summer Event Patrol; this group services events such as marathons, bike racing and speed skating.

To those looking to join the Canadian Ski Patrol for the first time, you are embarking on quite an adventure. A Federal Minister once said that the Canadian Ski Patrol was the best nationally based provider of first-aid and rescue services in the country next to the military. The CSP will provide you an opportunity to develop first-aid and on-snow technical skills second to none. You will become part of a team capable of working with not only CSP members from across the country but with other groups of First Responders and EMS personnel.

However, if you ask veteran patrollers why they return year after year, it is because of the camaraderie and the friendships. Once again, on behalf of all of us: Welcome!

On Behalf of the Kawartha Zone Executive,

Tim Legere, President
